Today, there was a very special happening at the 2010 Austrian Futurity & Derby Wiener Neustadt: the inauguration of the new Reining Walk Of Fame at the facility of Helmut and Dennis Schulz. The Reining Walk Of Fame is dedicated to Open Futurity Champions who are celebrated here quite in Hollywood style. „The idea was born on Monday night,“ said Helmut Schulz. „And I’m so glad we were able to realize it that fast.“
Each rider received his very personal brass plaque of a reiner and with his name engraved, that was embedded in concrete. Of course just like in Hollywood, the riders had to leave imprints of their hands in the concrete. The Reining Walk of Fame was welcomed by the riders enthusiastically. The first six Futurity Champions were honoured like that today: Rudi Kronsteiner, Markus Schöpfer, Massimiliano Ruggeri, Vern Sapergia, Cody Sapergia und Kelly Zweifel. Tomorrow, seven more will follow.
